About Catch - West End
Catch Giffnock and West End
I bought a 5pm voucher for...the wrong venue. I did not notice my mistake until I booked the date and got the receipt. We live in Giffnock and my husband has mobility issues so we could not attend the West End and I phoned to cancel. Natalia got the story out of me and took it upon herself -with my permission - to contact the Giffnock branch and ask them to honour the voucher which they agreed to do. Thank you Anna (Giffnock) and Natalia. The food was great. A small fish supper (lovely battered fish and great chips) with all the trimmings, bread and butter, mushy peas, curry sauce, salad. Served with a pot of tea each and followed by choice of dessert. Excellent. And great value. And wonderful staff. Thank you again Natalia for sorting this out and Anna for making us feel so welcome.
Wonderful fresh fish
A great, honest to goodness fish and chip shop with a seating area. The menu is imaginative but the place doesn’t try to be a fancy restaurant, it just concentrates on what it does best, preparing wonderful fresh fish and a few surprises.
Hip fish & chips in the West End
Bringing the fish supper firmly into the 21st century, this West End venue is the third branch of Catch
after the success of its sister outlets in Giffnock and Netherlee. Both a restaurant and a takeaway, inside
it’s all exposed brickwork, banquette seating and cool, post-industrial decor. Offering a much wider menu
than your average chippy, diners can choose from classic fish suppers, speciality fish dishes, seafood,
tacos, burgers and even katsu curry. Veggies and vegans are catered for as well, while a bar serving
craft beer, wine and fizz adds extra pizazz to the proceedings.
Fish suppers, seafood and so much more
Everything at Catch is cooked to order, with a commitment to light, crispy batter and the freshest of fish.
Where possible, all produce is sourced from Scottish coastal fisheries with a best practice and
As mentioned, this is no ordinary chippy menu. Choices can change, but expect starters such as Cullen
skink soup, seared scallops, mussels marinara, salt & chilli squid, king prawn tempura and organic
scotch egg with Dingwall black pudding.
Main courses are divided into sections, including fish suppers with a choice of haddock or sole, twice-
cooked chips, house salad and tartar sauce. Naturally, classic sausage, haggis and black pudding
suppers are available as well.
Other options include teriyaki-glazed salmon, grilled fillets of sea bass, gourmet scampi, seafood
platters, fish tacos, and lobster cooked on a flat-top grill.
Alternative choices include panko chicken, katsu curry and a range of burgers. Veggies can tuck into
dishes like vegan fish & chips with Asian tofu; Isle of Mull mac ‘n’ cheese, and a breaded halloumi
If you have room for dessert, then expect classic treats like lemon tart and sticky toffee pudding.
