Had never been to Cafe Andaluz.... mainly because before last night I would have said I don’t really like tapas.... boy was I wrong! Food was amazing. Service was brilliant. Value for money was extremely surprising considering it’s the west end. Wine was brilliant.... Dessert was to die for....! So happy I went..... cannot wait to go back!

    Once again brilliant!

Been going to the restaurant since it opened many years ago and whilst we try lots of others it is consistently our favourite restaurant. Great ambience, great food, great staff - nothing ever a bother. The consistency means you never have to fret about what it will be like, they always deliver.

Authentic Spanish tapas restaurant in West End

The first of Glasgow’s two Cafe Andaluz tapas restaurants, the Cresswell Lane branch has long been a favourite eating out destination in the West End. Set out in a slightly more open plan fashion than its city centre counterpart, the original Cafe Andaluz looks like the interior of a stylish, white-washed hacienda.

Stained glass lamps, carved wooden furniture and alcoves filled with colourful ceramics all make the sunken dining room look like the sort of authentic Spanish restaurant that you remember from your holidays.

Wide choice of vegetarian, meat & seafood tapas

Glasgow took to the idea of tapas with a passion and Cafe Andaluz in the West End feeds that enthusiasm. Divided into vegetarian, meat and seafood sections plus a choice of three paellas, the tapas menu is ideal for a quick solo lunch, a lingering romantic meal or a party night with a group of friends.

The dishes range from simple plates of roasted padron peppers to more complex choices such as the Moroccan style salad which mixes roasted sweet potato, parsnip and chickpea with chopped parsley, coriander and a topping of tahini dressing. More meaty choices might include the Andalucian black pudding with onion and apple chutney or the confit duck leg. The crisp baby squid and spicy prawns are always a hit.

Cafe Andaluz: A West End tapas institution

Cafe Andaluz has been a Glasgow West End institution since its arrival on Cresswell Lane in 2003. One of the first tapas restaurants to open in the city, it helped introduce Glaswegians to the Spanish way of dining. Launched by the Glasgow based Di Maggio’s group, Cafe Andaluz was a new direction for the brand who had built their success on Italian restaurants.
