279 Cafe Bistro is a cosy, family-owned restaurant situated on Glasgow’s Dumbarton Road, close to Partick Cross. The bistro opened in 2008 with the admirable aim of providing freshly cooked, simple and tasty food. 279 Cafe Bistro offers a pre-theatre and regularly changing dinner menus.

Attention to detail

The kitchen at Partick’s 279 Cafe Bistro cooks each dish to order so that the food reaches the table at its best. The menu changes regularly but typical starters from the evening menu might be the smoked haddock fishcakes or the grilled halloumi on a tomato and black olive salad.

Popular main courses include the loin of cod wrapped in Parma ham; the chicken and Stornoway black pudding and, of course, the sirloin steak with sautéed potatoes and a pepper sauce. The ever changing cheesecake selection is always a hit.
