Homely gastropub in Strathbungo
Newly opened in the former Mulberry Street spot, this third Stag & Thistle follows in the footsteps of its successful sister venues in Kilmaurs and Stewarton. Boasting a freshly refurbished interior, this smart pub and restaurant offers an extensive menu of classic British and international dishes. As well as this, expect a great selection of gin alongside cocktails, wine and beer. Occasional live music and quizzes both add to the buzz. Oh yes, and you are welcome to bring your pooch along.
Gourmet British and international pub cuisine
The menu at Stag & Thistle Strathbungo is divided into wee bites, classic mains, burgers, steaks, seafood, pasta, crepes, salads and even a We Love Tatties section.
Dishes can change, but sample picks include the Stag & Thistle Burger with tattie scone, haggis, cheese and whisky sauce; steak pie made using the chef’s own secret recipe, and chicken katsu curry. Or how about Scottish salmon fillet in a white wine cream served with chef’s vegetables and new potatoes?
Veggies can tuck into choices like the creamy Thai spiced vegetable crepe, while potato lovers will go wild over the chilli cheese tatties.
If you fancy afternoon tea, it is served on a highly Instagrammable mini picnic bench with a wee gingham tablecloth.
