Six friends met at Monteiths on a Tuesday evening. Food was excellent - clean plates said it all! Had a range of food but firecracker Cauli starter was lovely and macaroni & cheese I’m told was yummy. Big portions!
Service was really friendly and efficient. For midweek it was relatively busy so best to book.
No hesitation going back!

First time visiting and will be going back. The service and food was amazing, the best chicken Balmoral I have ever had and the mini corn dogs were delicious.

Open all day, Monteiths Bar & Bistro serves brunch, lunch and gourmet pub meals, as well as Sunday roasts. The interior is stylish and airy with wood panelling, banquette seating and hanging greenery.
You can dine with a view of the open kitchen and watch the chefs busy at work or alternatively, gaze out of the full-length windows. In the bar area, multiple TVs mean that you need never miss a moment of that night’s sporting event.
The menus at Montieths are extensive. They feature tried-and-tested favourites like fish & chips, as well as more adventurous options such as haggis spring rolls with curried apple sauce or decadent pizza fries.
Sample mains include Scotch beef steak pie, Moroccan spiced lamb rump or chicken tikka curry. Steak lovers can try the 32-day aged sirloin or the speciality pan-seared bavette. Veggies can tuck into choices like spiced cauliflower, toasted coconut & chickpea masala or the Mumbai Vegan Burger in a brioche bun.
Or what about a hand-stretched sourdough pizza with cow’s milk mozzarella? Toppings include handmade fennel sausage or an imaginative carbonara.
The Sunday roast is 12-hour, slow cooked beef sirloin with all the trimmings. The veggie version is herb & garlic baked celeriac.
Montieths is on Helena Place, a short walk from Clarkston train station. Eastwood Park Theatre is only a five-minute drive away, making this a great pre-show option. Nearby attractions include Linn Park and the Cathkin Braes. There are various golf clubs in the area too, including Williamwood, so you could dine here after working up an appetite on the greens.
