    Lovely wine, awesome cheeseboard and great advice

    First time in Marchtown and was really impressed. Purchased the big deal which was great - there were 6 suggested wines with it, but and we were told about each one but reassured that if they didn't sound appealing there were over 100 others to choose from. We went for one of the suggested reds (and got a bottle of cava to take away), and it was delicious. The cheeseboard in the offer can be changed to a meat and cheeseboard for the same price, and it was really generous and everything on it was delicious. As well as cheese and meat there were loads of nuts, different crackers, bread, chutneys and olives. Definitely going back soon!

Charming wine bar & restaurant in Strathbungo

Marchtown is a specialist wine & craft beer bar, shop and restaurant serving cheese, charcuterie and sharing plates. Beyond its vivid blue and gold facade, you will find a cosy wooden interior decorated in fairy lights and lined with bottles of wine. Regular tasting events, workshops and arty classes keep things lively.

Marchtown specialises in cheese, charcuterie, antipasti and sharing plates, all served beautifully on handmade oak boards. The knowledgeable staff will be happy to advise you on suitable wine pairings for your food. Craft beers, boutique spirits and cocktails are also available.

All produce is sourced from local suppliers, meaning you can enjoy a true taste of Scotland. Menus change seasonally, but cheese boards will feature a selection of top quality, flavoursome choices from local institution, I.J. Mellis. These will include a full range of cheese types, from soft and creamy to hard and mature, accompanied by apples, grapes, almonds, chutneys, boutique crackers and fruit toasts.

Charcuterie boards will be piled with delicious and exclusive cured meats such as chorizo picante, lomo de bellota and the uber-classy jamon iberico bellota. These will be accompanied by breads, almonds, mixed olives and preserves.

And if you can’t decide between the two, you can always go the whole hog and order the combined meat & cheese board.

Close to Queen’s Park and Tramway

Marchtown is on Pollokshaws Road, a hop, skip and jump away from Queen’s Park and also handy for the Tramway theatre and arts space. If you are arriving by train, then Crossmyloof station is around a ten-minute walk away and Shawlands station is also nearby. If you are driving, then there is limited on-street parking as well as free parking at Shawlands Arcade, also around ten minutes away.
