Great Food, Friendly Service, Will be back!

Great Food, Friendly Service, Will be back! We came for dinner after a pleasant breakfast experience. It was for a birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it special. The food was delicious and a nice selection of beer which pleased the other half! The manager in particular was very nice!

    1st Visit

A thoroughly enjoyable Saturday lunch at Loks. Restaurant was very busy giving the dining room quite a buzz and despite being so busy the service was pretty good. Pleasant waitresses, nice surroundings and very nice food. We ordered form the main menu, not the set menu and enjoyed our meal very much. A very handy location with lots of amenities round about. I'll certainly lunch here again.

Contemporary bar and restaurant on Southside

Loks Bar & Kitchen is on Newlandsfield Road in Glasgow’s Shawlands. A family-run bar with a separate restaurant and function suite, it offers comfortable, contemporary decor and a lively weekend programme of tribute nights, dinner dances and murder mysteries. A wide range of craft beers, cocktails and wines keep thirst at bay while the wood-burning stove means everything is toasty during the more chilly months.

Scottish produce, in-house baking

The chefs at Loks Bar & Kitchen like to use as much local produce as possible over their three main menus including 28 day, dry-aged Scotch beef. All the baking is done in-house. From a morning roll to a three course evening meal via a keenly priced lunch, they offer something for everyone. Alongside a grill section of steaks and build your own burgers, there are pastas, salads, Sunday roasts and old favourites like the beer-battered haddock and the chicken supreme stuffed with haggis. The house suet pies – braised beef or slow-cooked pork – have a large fan base.

Dessert could be a Scottish cheeseboard or apple crumble topped with fresh egg custard.

Shawlands transport and attractions

Loks Bar & Kitchen is by Pollok Football grounds on Newlandsfield Road in Glasgow’s Shawlands. The nearest train station is Pollokshaws East while the nearby A77 offers fast access to and from the city centre. There is limited car parking in the area.
