First time trying this venue and decided to opt for the Afternoon Tea. This is served in the'Great Hall', not the Cristal Restaurant. Mar Hall is in a lovely setting and has very pleasant and helpful staff. Food was good, but for the cost (£35 for 2 people) I would have expected some savouries as well as the few finger sandwiches, two scones and some small cakes (plenty of tea provided). Other places we have had afternoon tea would generally also have included a glass of fizz for this cost (at Mar Hall that would have been another £19 on 5pm's deals). What surprised me was that the 5pm dinner option was only a couple of ££s more for two courses with a glass of wine? Generally speaking, we enjoyed what we had, we liked the place and staff very much and would certainly go back to try dinner or lunch at either of the Restaurants - (especially the Cristal Restaurant which looked very nice, as did it's menus). Overall we felt the afternoon tea should have been less expensive - possibly nearer half the price.
