Requested a cosy corner away from draughts and was put in direct line of draught from door, -certainly not cosy. Was moved to a cramped and marginally warmer table with harsh lighting. The new areas have no personality. Looks like a school canteen. In the 90's this was the place to be. Then they built the new extension, I have never liked it. The Victorian bar on the other hand is a gem. Interestingly I paid more on the 5pm menu for a lesser choice than I would have had I gone a la carte. Pointed this out but the bill was not changed. The lamb burger was tasty but there was very little meat in the bun. Did not feel the price £14.95 was good value. Better portions just as tasty for better value elsewhere. Doubt I will ever go back for food.
