About O'Neill's Merchant Square

Irish bar in the Merchant City

One of two O’Neill’s in Glasgow, the Merchant Square branch is on Albion Street in the heart of the Merchant City. Billed as ‘the original Irish bar in Glasgow’, O’Neill’s is proud of its warm welcome, laidback atmosphere and, of course, the craic. All the major sporting events are shown on the big screens at O’Neill’s and there is regular live music plus DJs throughout the week.

Extensive pub grub menu

From the full Irish breakfast to a roast chicken dinner, the chefs at O’Neill’s have dishes for every time of day and every occasion. After work drinks? Order up some ribs and wings or macho nachos. Need a healthy start to the day? Try the porridge topped with honey. Fancy a hearty meal to see you through the big match? Start with the prawns in garlic butter; move on to the southern fried chicken burger and finish with baked lemon cheesecake. Irish stew, steaks, pizza and BBQ complete the picture.

Merchant City transport and attractions

Situated on Albion Street in the Merchant City, O’Neill’s is a short walk from Queen Street rail station, and a further few minutes from Central rail station. There are bus and taxi links available around Merchant City and nearby Trongate, with paid parking available at the Q-Park on Candleriggs. The City Halls, Tron and Old Fruitmarket concert venues are all within a five minute walk.
