Ingram Wynd Review

  • Rating One of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in (Rating 2.2/5)
The food in Ingram Wynd is truly awful. I had a weird prawn dish to start. It consisted of a mushy mess of prawns in a glutinous "sauce" on soggy bread. Yuck! For my main course I ordered braised ox cheek, only to be told 5 minutes later it was off the menu. I plumped for lamb stovies instead. The dish duly arrived and looked fine but as soon as I tasted it I realised it was burnt. It seemed to have been scrapped off the bottom of a pot. I wouldn't normally order another dish in a restaurant after the dreadful experience of the first two but I was really hungry as had come straight from work so I choose chicken stuffed with haggis. Third time unlucky I'm afraid, The haggis was awful, actually unpleasant and bore no resemblance to any haggis I have ever tasted before. It tasted nasty and cheap. My husband quite enjoyed his food but said it was only "ok" not great. None of the dishes came with the vegetables that the menu stated accompanied all main courses. On the positive side the young waiter who served us was fantastic. He was helpful, pleasant and professional.
