Having decided to go into town at the last minute, we went onto 5pm Valentine's day to see where would be available that night. Our choice was very restricted and we booked the casino which was about the only place where we could eat at 6pm. Not the most romantic of venues I know! When we arrived, we had to give our full details and ID and get our photos taken before going in. I don't recall reading about this on your site. I explained that we were only in for the Valentine's meal package but still, for security reasons, we had to become members of the casino. When we got past reception/security, we went into the restaurant area and were seated at a table for two. Almost before we had our coats off, one of the bar staff brought us the included glass of fizz whilst the young waitress gave us a single flimsy A4 sheet of paper to make our choices for our 3 courses. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. Both my husband and I went for the salmon and prawn parcel. When it arrived, it was lost on the large serving plate with a poor side salad. I chose chicken for my main and asked for potatoes instead of chips, little expecting a single baked potato to come. The chicken and sauce was tasty and my husband enjoyed his steak. The pudding I chose was salted caramel tart and vanilla pod ice cream, which was lovely. Hubby enjoyed his raspberry dessert. By this time the restaurant was getting busier, so we paid our bill and left. It was only the next day when I was about to discard our printed confirmation that I realised we never got the truffles which were included in the deal. Personally, I don't think that I'll be back. For me, there are better venues, menus and deals out there but I guess it's partly our fault for not booking sooner...
