ESCA & Chisholm 27 Review

  • Rating Rating 4.4/5
A nice place to spend an afternoon while it's pouring with rain outside. The two course lunch at £6.95 with coffee is a real bargain. The red pepper soup was sweet and tasty. The rich and smooth chicken liver pate is something I'd certainly order again. I could have done with another slice of the garlic bread with it though. The carbonara mains were creamy with a nice hint of garlic and more than enough pancetta pieces adding flavour through the dish. It was very tasty but I did get a bit bored halfway through; that's pasta for you. I'll choose something else next time. The guy who served us was really good and gave us some decent chat throughout. His cappaccinos were the best I've had in a long time. £20 for 2 people including a bottle of Italian water, a fresh orange and lemonade and a tip. You can't really argue with that, we'll be back.
