ESCA & Chisholm 27 Review

  • Rating Rating 3/5
Discovered this restaurant a few years ago now and it is a firm favourite however this was the first time we booked through 5 PM.Menu was the usual pre theatre. We were seated in the extensison-EscaToo which doesn't have quite the same atmosphere. Felt we were rushed to order drinks before we even had our coats off and got settled at the table. House white wine needed to be a lot cooler. As regulars we wre given a complementary focacia---which this time came along with the main couse and not as the usual starter. The beef pepe was up to its usual standard and was served with french fries and salad. The portion of fish was on the small side t and served on a bed of veg----unfortunately the diner is not a lover of veg so it's just as well the bread came with the main course. Two ice creams to finish. A bit disappointed in our visit this time.
