ESCA & Chisholm 27 Review

  • Rating Rating 4.0/5
Esca, as always, had an excellent atmosphere and was suprisingly busy for a Monday night. The Pre-theatre menu had an excellent array of dishes for a set menu and offered something for everyone. Excellent - cosy and lively. I had the Mussels in the spicy sugo for starter and they were excellent, the sauce being very spicy and very more-ish. I had the meat pizza as a main and although the meat was delicious, the base was a little bland for my liking. My partner had teh deep fried baked potato and black pudding and felt it could have benefitted from a slice of goats cheese! Despite being so busy, the two waiting staff coped admirablely and maintained a charming friendly atmosphere well. I love this restaraunt and will be back.
