Perfect
Great value for money. Portions are very generous and tasty too. Service was also very good. Went on a Friday afternoon. Really enjoyed spending the afternoon, catching up with a friend. Cute setting. Highly recommend. Loved the vanilla sponge with custard filling and white chocolate icing

Merchant City tea room
Putting the leafy into tea leaves, Cup Tea Garden is an inviting and beautifully crafted tea room on Virginia Street in the stylish Merchant City. It is the third branch of Glasgow’s innovative Cup family and follows in the tea-scented footsteps of the original Cup Tea Room in the West End and the city centre Cup Tea Lounge. Open until 5pm seven days a week, it is an appealing spot for a splendid cup of tea, a bite to eat and a good chat with old friends.
Brunch, lunch and fresh baking
A superb variety of loose leaf teas, herbal and fruit teas, coffees and hot chocolates are just part of Cup Tea Garden’s appeal. While the staff will happily brew a pot of Royal Oolong, or good old Breakfast Blend, they also serve fantastic brunches, lunches and light bites. From the full cooked to a bowl of granola via several tempting egg-based offers, they have breakfast (served until noon) sewn up.
Lunch might be a baked potato or soup and a gourmet sandwich, wrap, toastie or panini filled with roast beef, goat’s cheese or pulled chicken and Asian slaw. Delicious cakes, traybakes, scones and cupcakes will happily fill any leftover spaces.
Merchant City transport links and attractions
Located on Virginia Court, between Miller and Virginia streets, Cup Tea Garden is a brisk five minute walk from Queen Street and Central train stations. There is restricted on-street parking and a pay car park on Ingram Street. Local attractions include the City Halls and the Gallery of Modern Art.
