Yummmm
From the minute we walked in to the minute we left the service was very friendly and efficient The staff could not do enough for us. The food was delicious and as usual we ate far too much. Definitely going back to be more adventurous next time.

Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine in the Merchant City
Formerly a Glasgow institution serving up Scottish dishes, the City Merchant has transformed itself into City Merchant Turkiye. Turning its focus from Scotland to sunnier climes, it now specialises in offering the taste of Turkey and the Mediterranean to city centre diners.
Seafood, shish and sarma
At City Merchant Turkiye, you can enjoy Levantine favourites in a cosy and casual setting.
Starters include fried calamari rings in batter; chicken wings cooked on a charcoal grill, and pan-fried king prawns with halep sauce. Veggies can sample vine leaves stuffed with mixed rice and vegetables.
Main courses feature charcoal grilled salmon fillet; grilled lamb shish with fries, and vegetarian moussaka.
If you have room for dessert, then expect Turkish classics such as baklava and sultac rice pudding jostling for your attention alongside treats like chocolate fudge cake.
Merchant City attractions
Based centrally on Candleriggs, City Merchant Turkiye is an easy walk from the City Halls & Old Fruitmarket, Tron Theatre, and Gallery of Modern Art. Both Queen Street and Central stations are around 10 minutes away by foot.
