    Excellent fine dining experience!

I was very impressed with this deal. Only £14.95 for 2 courses and a glass of wine. I would say the quality of the food is well above average. The crispy egg with black pudding for starter was very tasty and the pulled pork burger was very good. The crayfish and mango salad also looked particularly good, and salads came either as a starter or main. The staff were very friendly and attentive and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere in this rather grand setting. I would definitely go back to Citation.

    A lovely afternoon out

I've been to Citation on a few occasions now and it never fails. I can't see past it for value for money and quality of food. In some establishments, you feel like you're being treated differently when you're on a deal but not in Citation. The attentiveness of the staff is second to none, they've got it spot on,our waitress was lovely and pleasant, explaining how the deal worked and leaving us to choose our meal. I had the chicken and ham hough terrine with the homemade piccalilli and my friend the free range egg and black pudding, both were divine, for main course we had the fish and chips, again wonderful and cooked to perfection (the thick hand cut chips were the business!). The house red we had along with our meal, was so good we treated ourselves to another glass (we would have had a bottle, but we were off to a gin tasting and thought it a better idea to just have another glass). We had such a lovely afternoon, in beautiful surroundings, it's hard to believe you can get such nice food for what we paid (£14.95 for 2 courses), take a bow Citation.

Stylish restaurant and bar in Merchant City

Citation Taverne & Restaurant is housed within the landmark former Sheriff Court building on Wilson Street, in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City. Outdoor terraces allow alfresco dining in the summer months. The restaurant’s Portico, nestled among the building’s Corinthian-style, exterior columns, is one of Glasgow’s most impressive dining locations. Citation is the ideal location for a romantic meal, a night out with friends or a long and lazy lunch. Those who want to carry on socialising long after their meal can head to the ground floor bar.

Contemporary and classic dishes

Citation’s kitchen team create seasonal menus using the best produce from Scotland, the rest of the UK and further afield. Dishes on the a la carte menu include Tweed Valley lamb cutlets; fillet of West Coast sea trout; honey and truffle-glazed belly of Ayrshire pork and the battered catch of the day with handcut chips and mushy peas.
The menu also has a grill section which features sirloin, fillet and flat iron steaks alongside Surf ‘n’ Turf plus Citation’s Chateaubriand for two. The dessert selection has options such as the lemon and raspberry posset, chocolate tart, Bailey’s parfait or you could share a cheese board accompanied by a glass of port.
