Arrived at the restaurant at 3pm to be told they did not have us booked. Showed confirmation email to be told they could squeeze us in. Made to feel this was a bother but there were empty tables throughout our visit. Food was terrible. Meat was tough, potatoes dry and some were black and hard. Cauliflower was mush, Yorkshire puddings dry and hard. Eton mess was a runny slurp. Someone should have supervised food on Cavery to make sure when it was past its best it was put in the rubbish. Staff were few and miserable looking. I have eaten here several times when it first opened but sadly is has gone down hill.
