This was my third visit to the Village Hotel Carvery; and it was every bit as impressive as it had been on the first visit. The restaurant is spacious & well laid out. The furnishings are high quality with comfortable leather seats. The staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive. I have poor mobility and walk with a stick; there was always a member of staff close by to offer assistance or discreetly move a chair to give me room to get through. The food is excellent - best carvery I have ever been to. The starters are amazing; you can have soup of the day and/ or there's an array of cold dishes. These include small pots of smoked salmon salad, prawn marie-rose, Caesar salad;portions of duck terrine, pate, meat platter & smoked mackerel. The main choice of 3 roast meats, massive Yorkshire puddings and a great variety of veg. caters for all tastes, and is excellent. If you still have room afterwards there are a variety of desserts on offer, including freshly made waffles, Eton mess and chocolate mousse. The coffee is high quality and the staff don't rush you to finish, so you can eat at your own pace in a very relaxed atmosphere. Very Highly Recommended.
