About Pickled Ginger
Amazing sushi with great gluten free options.
Lovely wee restaurant with a relaxed vibe and great cocktails on offer. The sushi is beautiful and they have a great selection of mains too. Our waitress was great and they were really good about checking for allergens, and letting me know what was gluten free. They even have gf soy sauce! Amazing meal and we will definitely be back.
Food was beautiful! Staff were really friendly and attentive without being overly intrusive.
Overall a lovely meal in a really nice place. Definitely recommend and 100% will go back!
Contemporary Japanese restaurant in Finnieston
Pickled Ginger is a modern Japanese restaurant on St Vincent Street. Fitting neatly into the fashionable Finnieston restaurant scene, it is a stylish space with a buzzy but relaxed atmosphere. Cocktails, sake, Asian beers and an interesting range of Japanese whiskies and spirits are as much of an attraction as the food.
A sushi chef prepares the fresh sushi and sashimi to order at the counter of Pickled Ginger. For those who are less keen on fish, there are lots of other options such as beef tataki or pork kaarage. As well as Korean bulgoki, a beef dish, there are wok fried noodles; spicy beef broths, chicken teriyaki and tofu dishes.
If the choice seems overwhelming, there is always the option to order a bento box filled with nigiri sushi, a main course, steamed rice, salad and miso soup. Adventurous dessert fans may wish to leave room for exotic choices like the chocolate mochi.
