About Pickled Ginger
Amazing food and service! Love it
Ross our lovely waiter spent time with us explaining the Saki flights in detail. He also spoke us through the menu and answered our questions. He treated us to some eel to taste which was exceptionally kind and we did enjoy it. Can’t wait to go back
The food here’s is great. We had lots of different things of the menu. We shared some sushi, gyoza and dumplings to start. Our main courses included bento boxes, udon noodles and curry. We also had apple dumplings and chocolate mochi. Service was quick but not rushed. Useful for going to a concert at the hydro.
Contemporary Japanese restaurant in Finnieston
Pickled Ginger is a modern Japanese restaurant on St Vincent Street. Fitting neatly into the fashionable Finnieston restaurant scene, it is a stylish space with a buzzy but relaxed atmosphere. Cocktails, sake, Asian beers and an interesting range of Japanese whiskies and spirits are as much of an attraction as the food.
A sushi chef prepares the fresh sushi and sashimi to order at the counter of Pickled Ginger. For those who are less keen on fish, there are lots of other options such as beef tataki or pork kaarage. As well as Korean bulgoki, a beef dish, there are wok fried noodles; spicy beef broths, chicken teriyaki and tofu dishes.
If the choice seems overwhelming, there is always the option to order a bento box filled with nigiri sushi, a main course, steamed rice, salad and miso soup. Adventurous dessert fans may wish to leave room for exotic choices like the chocolate mochi.
