Pellegrini is part of The Italian Club, a family-run mini chain of restaurants. That family are the Crollas, who originally hail from the Apennines Mountains. The restaurant’s executive chef has an impressive background, with experience cooking in a Michelin star restaurant and also for the Ferrari team.
Pellegrini aims to showcase the different regional cuisines of Italy, while still serving up all-time favourites.
As well as focaccia, bruschetta and charcuterie starters, the antipasti options include Baltimore crab cakes, courgette fritters and creamy Puglian burrata.
The borlotti & cannellini bean stew topped with chilli Italian sausage and a grilled polenta crust would make hearty and warming choice. The range of risottos and pastas are supplemented by steak, lamb and chicken dishes, as well as options like monkfish wrapped in Parma ham.
There are also various mussel dishes, including the flavoursome Francese with onions, white wine, cream and parsley
Pelligrini is on Argyle Street, about a 5-minute walk from Exhibition Centre train station and a stroll away from Kelvingrove Park. This Hydro and Armadillo are both a short drive away. There is pay parking nearby at 931 Sauchiehall Street.
