We enjoyed an excellent early Sunday evening dinner. There was a good choice of cold salad items including smoked fish and cold meat - not extensive but good quality. My partner enjoyed his vegetable soup with croutons passing on the fresh bread rolls to spare his appetite for the main course. A very good selection of delicious, well cooked vegetables accompanied roast beef from the carvery with Yorkshire pudding, a creamy Thai chicken curry, beef olives in a whisky sauce, a herring dish or a pork dish. Everything was fresh, well-presented and tasted good. My only complaint is that the desserts were all cut into generous sized pieces. I did manage to spot a wee piece of the apple pie which I had with some fresh fuit and a little cream. My partner finished his meal off with a gorgeous rich chocolate mousse on a biscuit base with a chocolate sauce. The coffee was very decent too. We were delighted with our very peaceful meal and couldn't believe what a bargain we had. We will, of course, be returning and taking others with us. Superb value for money.
