Found a lady in a suit to say we had made reservations. Not a friendly start! Chose some seats & our waiter came. Really nice guy, but staff deserve to be trained properly. Having made a reservation for 6 for afternoon tea, it took 35 minutes to get our tea/coffee and a further 15 minutes to receive our cake stands. The presentation is fab, really smart & contemporary. Unfortunately, some of the bread was a bit stale and squashed so sandwiches weren't the best. Two of the stands (1 per 2 people) had only 3 scones & the other had 4??
This was a special occasion where I was shopping for the 1st time for my wedding dress & my bridesmaids' dresses with my bridesmaids. Decided to see the funny side of it all until I asked the waitress for the bill as it was my treat. When the bill was placed at the other end of the table I stressed that it was me that was taking it, it was still placed there. My bridesmaid paid the bill!!!! They should not even had seen the bill!!! Very poor standard all round. Didn't complain at the time as I didn't want what was a special occasion soured any more. Nothing more than disappointing, and any thoughts of having our wedding in the Hilton.....no way.
