Requested a nice warm cosy table for 4 on a Friday night, got put in the open area at the back of the restaurant, even though there were booths free in the front when we arrived.
We deliberated on going A La Carte (as we were given the option), but decided to choose 2 course pre theatre which has a time limit on the table.
Service was slow at the beginning, 15mins or so before we were asked what we wanted to drink, then another 10 mins before the order was taken, another 15mins before starters arrived, 2 choose the pate which look & tasted lovely, 2 had the minestrone & said it was good. The special for the pre theatre meal was a veggie risotto, but had we choose the A La Carte with 20% discount it was Salmon. For the mains 2 had lasagne which was nice the other 2 had chicken Milanese which was dry & would have been better served with potatoes rather than chips (but that's a preference thing). We didn't have a sweet, but one had a coffee. I felt once they started serving the food the rush was on to get the table back, the bill arrived just as my friend finished the coffee, but their was still wine to finish, the bill was paid & 5mins later we were asked to move to the bar as people were waiting for the table, I understand the reason for the time limit (like many pre theatre) but they should take into consideration the service, plus it was really noisy because of the large open area.
If we had taken the A la carte there was no time limit, I wonder if we would have been asked to move if one of us had taken the A La Carte! but I'll never know as we won't be returning, as there are many 5pm restaurants that don't rush you to get the table back.
