About Viva Bothwell Street
Best Italian in the city centre by far.
Excellent food, excellent service. It’s what we’ve come to expect from Marco and the staff at all times. Despite COVID restrictions staff are still doing an excellent job and have to be praised highly. Noticed some new faces amongst the staff last night and have to admit they still coped admirably.
Can’t wait to go back again.
Lovely little restaurant.
Excellent food and service as usual.
Highly recommend a visit.
Recently refurbished city centre Italian
Located on Bothwell Street, Viva Ristorante is a welcoming, family-run Italian dining spot. After its recent makeover it is looking lighter, brighter and more contemporary, yet it still hasn’t lost its original warmth and cosiness. New features include a restful colour scheme of blondes, greys and dusty blues, plus spruced-up booth seating, filament-style lighting and walls clad with reclaimed wood. Close to various theatres and venues, this would make a smart yet relaxed pre-show destination.
Viva Ristorante offers an ample choice of pizza and pasta dishes as well as chicken, veal and steak, all made using the finest quality ingredients. There are always daily specials, including a freshly prepared fish dish.
Popular choices include the classic puttanesca pizza topped with anchovies, capers, tomato, mozzarella and black olives. From the pasta selection, the spaghetti carbonara, made with bacon, egg, parmesan, garlic and cream sauce is always a favourite, while veggies can sample the fettucine con vegetale with asparagus, roast peppers, goats cheese, tomato and basil sauce.
From the meat mains, you could opt for the pan-fried veal with mushrooms, white wine and cream or the breast of chicken marinated in rosemary and garlic. The chargrilled fillet and sirloin steaks come with a choice of diane, pepper or pizzaiola sauce.
Welcoming pre-theatre destination
A short walk from Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations, Viva Ristorante is also handy for Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the King’s Theatre and the Old Fruitmarket. There are taxi ranks at both stations and pay parking can be found nearby on Waterloo Street.
