The Glenfiddich Dinearound deal: The food was very well-prepared, but the menu was a tad unimaginative - it seems as if every restaurant in town is doing chicken or sea-bass on its pre-theatre/lunch menu. However, my starter - a kind of salmon "cake" - was very tasty. The chicken (I've eaten too much sea-bass lately!) was tasty (brine marinated?) and succulent. Dessert - a cream-filled mille feuilles with raspberries in a chocolate sauce was delicious, but, presumably, only the presentation was home-made (if not, I laud the pastry chef!). Service was brilliant - fast and friendly - and the ambiance was pleasant and intimate. The free glass of house wine was a passable rosé and the Glenfiddich dram was much appreciated!
