The meal was booked as part of Maggie's cancer charity that the restraint was involved with. It was, on the whole, fantastic value for money. I was concerned that I'd made the error of visiting a seafood restaurant on a Sunday, however, the fish was very fresh. The started was a beautiful portion of smoked salmon, soft boiled egg (perfect) and slightly tough asparagus with an over-thick hollendaise.
The main was a lovely, beautifully cooked fillet of sea bass, the skin could have been a little crisper. The mash potato was a little lumpy and under seasoned and it seems a little dated to serve all mains with roasted potatoes and carrots.
The desert was the highlight of the meal. An amazing orange and lemon tart with ice-cream. The pastry was perfect, the creme brulee style top was moreish and the raspberry sauce was a delight!
The deal included a glass of wine (Merlot) very nice and overall great food and great value for money.
