About The Chippy Doon the Lane
Can’t beat the fish and chips
Never disappointed in the Chippy Doon the lane, best fish and chips in Glasgow
The meal was fresh and extremely delicious, first class presentation, no fuss, the restaurant ambience was relaxed and comfortable, although slightly draughty, but we asked to be moved which was no trouble. I had a guest with me from France and found the whole experience a delight.
Loved the food, no fuss presentation of great Scottish Faye superb..
Contemporary fish & chip shop off Buchanan Street
The Chippy Doon The Lane has updated the concept of the traditional fish and chip shop for the 21st century, with a fresh, contemporary space on McCormick Lane, just off Buchanan Street in Glasgow’s city centre. With a slight industrial feel thanks to its stripped bricks and exposed pipe work, The Chippy Doon The Lane’s welcoming staff and lighting give the restaurant a warm glow.
Seafood restaurant focusing on fish & chip concept
The Chippy Doon The Lane takes a fresh look at the traditional fish and chip shop that has been loved for so long in Glasgow. Battered fish served with hand-cut chips and home made tartar sauce are the core of the menu and customers can choose between coley, plaice, haddock, cod, lemon sole, scampi or monkfish. Lovers of chip shop tradition can crown fish suppers with a pickled onion or even the more daring pickled egg.
If fish and chips is not a preference, there is a selection of alternatives, ranging from chippy favourites such as a sausage supper to smoked haddock fishcakes, grilled Loch Fyne kippers and veggie spring rolls. Children have their own menu and there is an outside seating area, should Glasgow’s weather be unusually rain-free. Thanks to The Chippy Doon The Lane, Glasgow’s love affair with battered seafood should not cease anytime soon.
