    Elegant yet relaxed dining experience

We booked at short notice for an early Saturday night dinner. I have been before, with friends, but it was my husband's first visit and he worried it might be "a bit posh". We took advantage of the early evening special offer of 3 courses with a bottle of house wine for two, for £49.50. It is an impressively grand building, with beautifully styled interior, yet we received a very warm welcome and enjoyed excellent, attentive service from staff, and a delicious dinner. There was no fuss, and no rush to get the table back, so we sat and relaxed. The food was refined and well presented. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion, and look forward to our next visit.

    Love this restaurant!

It was a special occasion so we went for the chateaubriand, which was fantastic. When asked if we were served and asked if we needed anything else, we asked for salt and pepper, but once we tasted the food we added no seasoning - it was perfect as it was. We also ordered pepper sauce but had a bit of a dilemma because, on the one hand the beef was perfect without sauce, but the sauce was delicious! Theo chips were yummy and the salad and cauliflower cheese were both really tasty. The arancini starter was great too, but no room for dessert!

Luxurious eclectic restaurant in city centre

The five star Blythswood Square hotel in Glasgow’s city centre is the location of this opulent restaurant and cocktail bar, which uses seasonal, locally sourced produce to serve an eclectic menu. Priding itself on quality food and exceptional service, Blythswood Square Restaurant is a popular choice for visitors wishing to celebrate a special occasion, enjoy an indulgent meal or to relax with friends for a cocktail or two.

Classic & contemporary menu options

Blythswood Square Restaurant prides itself on the quality of the ingredients used in their cooking, and the menu does change depending on the seasonal produce available. An example of items that may be on offer include the hand dived scallops with a light ham broth and crisp pancetta; the pan seared hake with spring onion mash, poached egg & mustard sauce; or the highland venison haunch and bon bons with beetroot textures & juniper.

The restaurant’s chefs are also proud of their natural charcoal Josper grill which helps to ensure the best possible tenderness and flavour for their carefully selected steaks. From 10oz sirloins to the more decadent 16oz chateaubriand for two, all steaks are served with twice cooked chips, marinated cherry tomatoes, bone marrow, and a choice of grill sauce. A definite ‘must try’ for meat lovers!

Close to Charing Cross, city centre accessibility

Blythswood Square Restaurant is in Glasgow’s city centre and has some paid parking available outside the restaurant. Time to be naughty: Guilty Pleasures at Blythswood Square has arrived

Guilty Pleasures at Blythswood Square is potentially the naughtiest treat in Glasgow. The five star Blythswood Square Hotel is challenging the notion that Champagne must be served with delicate canapés. They’ve decided Champagne tastes just as good, maybe even better, with stodgy comfort food like cocktail sausages, jenga chips and pork fritters.

Winter warming luxury at Blythswood Square Restaurant

With a grand marble lobby, three story chandelier and sweeping staircase, the five star Blythswood Square Hotel dazzles as soon as you step inside. The restaurant is just as impressive, with tweed furnishings (Blythswood Hotel has the highest spent of Harris tweed in soft furnishing since the original QE2), velvet curtains, and red fringed pendant lampshades lending what the restaurant describes as a modern Scottish aesthetic. There are also nods to the building’s former residence as the Royal Scottish Automobile Club, with images from the Monte Carlo Rally peppering the inside of the lampshades and menus.
