I booked a 5pm deal for Red Onion for 4 people which offered two courses, half a bottle of wine and tea or coffee for £25 pp and received an email confirmation. When we arrived we were given menus and when we asked about the deal we were told it finished at 6pm. When I said I had email confirming the deal the waitress grudging gave us pre theatre menus for a different deal and said there was a mistake with 5pm. After reminding the waitress of the diffent £25 deal she seemed to remember it and finally after 40 minutes in the restaurant she took our order! The food was very nice, appart from the Frozen strawberries in hot white chocolate which was like white chocolate soup with mushy raspberries. We were not offered coffee at the end of the meal and as the mezzanine level was stiflingly hot we paid and left. I have eaten at Red Onion before and enjoyed the experience but we were made to feel very awkward about asking for the deal we had booked at 5pm and felt we were treated like second class citizens.
