Punjabi Charing Cross Review

  • Rating Great starter, mains too oily for my taste (Rating 3.8/5)
This was our first time at Punjabi Charing Cross so we weren't sure what to expect. When we asked the Waiter for the sharing platter to be served without meat or chicken, we expected to get a couple of extra veg pakoras instead of chicken pakora. Instead, we got delicious paneer tikka, fish pakora, veg pakora, channa puri etc - a huge platter and great value. Unfortunately my main, prawn Jaipuri, was too oily for me (I mentioned there was far too much ghee for my taste but the Waiter told me that they only use olive oil and that "all the oil is from the prawns") My partner also felt that his lamb Jaipuri was too oily. It may be that's the way Jaipuri dishes are served and that other dishes are less oily, so definitely worth another try
