Booked through 5pm for £14.95 deal, 2 courses and wine. Table booked for 5.30pm and arrived at 5.25pm. Grill on desk told me your booking was at 5 and table now booked out. I started to question if I had made a mistake and was extremely apologetic and a little embarrassed as I was there with a friend.
I asked if we could still be taken on same offer, which we were but was told the table had to be handed back 30mins earlier. When we were seated I checked my 5pm confirmation and lo and behold I did in fact book for 5.30. I went to look for the member of staff but I could not see her to I spoke to our waiter. He said he would need to speak to a manager and get back to us. In fairness the waiter came back and said that the problem had been rectified, however it would have been better customer service if the original staff member who was also the greeter, first impressions and all that approached our table and apologised.
Moving on to the service. We ordered our starters and waited almost 40 mins on them by this time our drink which was inc in the offer was almost finished. No one checked with us if our food was ok nor did they approach and ask if we would like another drink. We had to flag down the waiter and request these ourselves, trivial maybe but do the small things not make for a better dining experience? After the plates were cleared. The bill was put down to us which I found rather rude, we may have wanted a coffee or another drink but the option was not given. The food was mediocre, fine, nothing to rave about. Will I rush back? Never! Which is a pity ad there is a lot of competition in princess square and I've eaten in a few of the restaurants but this one I would bypass.
