Pan-Asian bistro in Glasgow city centre
Located on Glassford Street, in the heart of Glasgow, Mamafubu is a pan-Asian bistro. Set over multiple levels, the dining room is a handsome affair with large windows looking out onto the street life. Porcelain figurines of Asian musicians and a golden cat with a nodding paw add a slightly kitsch touch.
Familiar dishes and exotic options
Serving everything from steamed bao buns and bento boxes to bowls of congee and noodles with kimchi, Mamafubu lives up to its pan-Asian billing. Whether you want Thai tom yum soup or Japanese katsu curry, you will find it at Mamafubu. As well as a street food section and an a la carte selection, there is an oriental menu with options such as Chinese lamb skewers, hot pots and lobster in ginger and wine sauce. More daring diners might investigate the range of stewed meats such as the beef shin and tripe.
There is an interesting drinks list. From bubble milk tea to mango Daiquiris via plum juice, there are plenty of alternatives to the more familiar bottles of Tiger, Singha and Asahi.
