Rating A gem of a Chinese restaurant right in the city centre (Rating 4.4/5)
Tucked away in Mitchell Lane, Lychee Oriental is a gem of a Chinese restaurant right in the city centre. The decor is stylish and the furniture is modern. We visited for lunch and were warmly welcomed on a cold January afternoon. The set lunch offered half a dozen starters and a dozen mains. The food is mainly Chinese with some Japanese options. Preceded by a complimentary bowl of tasty prawn crackers our food was served promptly. We enjoyed the spring rolls and chicken satay with a spicy peanut sauce and the best main was char grilled chicken breast with noodles. The lunch menu was great value at under a tenner. We also enjoyed the Chinese beer on draft and excellent coffees. Recommended for a quiet lunch just yards from Buchanan Street.
