About Alla Locanta Mediterranean
We loved our recent visit here. Our waiter was so lovely and attentive, food was superb cant wait to come back again.
Had a fantastic meal. Food and service was excellent. Great value for money, would book again.
Italian and Turkish dining in the city centre
Locanta is a welcome fusion of what was previously two restaurants (a Turkish and an Italian) housed in the same premises: Alla Turca and Alla Italia. Now diners can enjoy tucking into Mediterranean and meze cuisine in one combined, family-run dining spot of chic white banquette seating and exposed brickwork.
As Locanta is on Pitt Street, close to the King’s Theatre, the Theatre Royal and O2 ABC, this would make an ideal pre-theatre dining option.
Pasta, mezze and so much more
At Locanta, diners can enjoy a tempting range of Italian pizzas and pastas plus Turkish ‘tapas’ (mezze), seafood dishes and a BBQ grill selection.
Turkish choices will include mezze favourites such as the falafel, the stuffed vine leaves and the beer-battered calamari with Alla Turca style tartare sauce. For mains, expect dishes like the BBQ mixed kebabs, the BBQ swordfish and the vegetable casserole.
Or if you would prefer Italian, then options might include the penne Milano with white wine & cream chicken, the linguini Locatelli with roast chestnut & wild mushroom, and the risotto frutti di mare with fresh Shetland king scallops & king prawns. The pizza selection could include pizza funghi selvatici with finest wild mushroom, pizza verdure with roasted Mediterranean vegetables and pizza salsiccia with Italian sausage, cherry tomato and red onion.
If you have got room for a sweet, then a tempting incentive is the complimentary mini Baileys or Champagne cocktail served with all puddings. The chef’s signature trio of sharing desserts would make a fab choice.
Perfectly placed between Sauchiehall Street and Bath Street
As mentioned, Locanta is a short distance from the O2 ABC, King’s Theatre and Theatre Royal, as well as various city centre shops and the bars of Bath Street. There are numerous bus routes and taxi stands on Sauchiehall Street, plus Queen Street and Central train stations are both under a fifteen minute walk away.
