La Bonne Auberge Review

  • Rating Disappointing (Rating 2.4/5)
The meal did not start off well as it took a while for starters to arrive and when they did arrive it was an underwhelming experience. The salmon rillettes were tasty but a very small portion, the salmon was at most 2 tablespoons. The spicy tomato soup tasted solely of smoked paprika and I've tasted better tinned soup. We both ordered steak frites; one was supposed to be medium rare and was more like medium but it was fine. The other, supposed to be medium, was dried out and there was no pink in the middle of it at all, it tasted tough and it was sent back. When a new steak was sent out, it was cooked perfectly but I had to wait 20 minutes for it and my husband had finished his by then. It was not the dinner we had hoped for. Staff were apologetic.
