About Drygate Brewing Co
Craft brewery, bar and kitchen in East End
Located on the Drygate from which it takes its name, Drygate is a craft brewery, bar, restaurant and lively event space. Built around a brewery – customers can make their own beer – Drygate has rugged industrial looks that make a design feature of the brewing equipment. In addition to the Brewhouse Restaurant, the premises comprise a beer hall and kitchen plus a terrace and beer garden. Live music, comedy gigs, clubs, and open mic nights barely scratch the surface when it comes to Drygate’s packed events schedule.
Fresh, locally sourced ingredients
In the upstairs Beer Hall and Kitchen at Drygate, the chefs deliver updated versions of pub classics such as burgers, garlic and chilli chicken kebabs and prawn skewers. The Brewhouse menu is more ambitious with well sourced ingredients cooked with thought. Typical starters might be the salad of West Coast crab or the confit rabbit and ham hough terrine. Popular main courses include the wild garlic gnocchi with goat’s curd, broad beans, peas and bacon or the Drygate beef burger and jerk ox cheek served on a toasted brioche bun. Fish options include the fillet of hake with Jersey Royals, crayfish and a caper and brown butter sauce. Naturally, the staff will happily recommend beer pairings.
East End attractions and transport
With regular brewery tours and exhibitions, Drygate is an attraction in itself. Other local landmarks include the Necropolis. The nearest train station is High Street. Numerous bus service runs to and from the city centre along Duke Street. There is car parking at Drygate.
