Driftwood Review

  • Rating Bones in fajitas... (Rating 1.4/5)
For a £10 meal we weren't expecting fine dining. At 6pm on a Saturday night we weren't expecting a quiet meal. But wow McDonalds would have been nicer and more efficient. We stood for around five minutes, sent one of our group to look around for someone who worked there and continued to wait to speak to staff to ask for our table. The staff member was pretty dismissive, moved two guys from a table behind us and we sat down. He dumped a menu and left. Do we order at the bar? Do we sit and wait? Eventually we went to the bar, were served 15 minutes later, yes it was busy but the staff didn't seem to have to clue who to serve when. Cocktails were horrible bland and just tasted like watered down fruit juice. Our food came. Cutlery never. The drunk table behind us threatened to kick a girls head in as she walked past dropping her drink at our table. It spilled everywhere and the mess plus glass remained there the rest of the meal. The mains came. The empty glasses weren't taken away. We had to ask for our comp drinks. We had to again ask for knifes, forks, napkins - we were having fajitas! Meal was half cold by the time he brought the drinks and went off to find cutlery. Then we found two pieces of bone in the chicken and veg mix. Tried to get staff members attention to complain, they couldn't hear us or ignored us as they walked past. Stood at the bar for ten minutes waiting to complain. Gave up and just left. Awful.
