Starters were good with reasonably varied choice. My pasta was splendid, with a load of smoked bacon permeating the tomato-based sauce, although it was dangerously filling. The others had the sardines, which they enjoyed. My wife and I were immediately drawn to the lambs liver, since it doesn't often appear on a menu. Although our preference is for calf liver, this was really tasty, if slightly overcooked. Our daughter had the risotto, which needed seasoning to give it any taste - and I very rarely add salt to any food. It had a good creamy texture, though. Overall, a fine meal and the litre of house wine was not sold at a rip-off price.
