Cranachan Review

  • Rating Rating 2.2/5
Ambiance was nice for afternoon tea and service was okay but I've been for three of these now in different locations and this was by far the poorest value for money. The number of cakes/sandwiches wasn't great for two people but I could put up with that as I normally have to take home a doggy bag anyway. What really disappointed us were the scones or should I say scone. To me this is what afternoon tea should centre around but we had one half of a tiny scone each. In addition to that , while it says on the menu it comes with freshly whipped cream and preserve and a clootie dumpling, it actually arrived with a teaspoon of cream, a raspberry on top and no jam nor a clootie dumpling. While we waited for our tea we asked if this was the only scone we get, we got an apologetic answer saying I'm afraid that's all there is. Bit of a disappointment.
