Rating A Spanish extravaganza! (Rating 4.0/5)
Myself and a friend dined here last night on the 3 tapas for £12 plus desert deal. I have never been here before so was very excited! I ordered the papayas bravas, the chipirones (fried baby squid) and the albondigas (lamb meatballs). My friend ordered the Spanish tortilla, chicken in batter with a honey and mustard sauce and the scallops. For desert we both had the crema catalan. The portions were spot on, in fact we struggled to finish most of it. The lamb meatballs were so full of authentic flavour and very tender and juicy. The squid was very tasty and the accompanying aioli was a nice addition. The tortilla was beautifully cooked and had just the right amount of seasoning. The batter of the chicken was very light and crispy and the chicken was tender and succulent, the scallop dish was very nice and the pancetta gave a nice boost of sharpness combined with the smooth creamy texture of the seafood. The desert was perfect with a perfect sugar topping which cracked nicely when tapped with your spoon and the rich creamy pudding underneath was amazing. The restaurant was very quiet so not a lot of atmosphere but decor wise you could have been in Barcelona! The staff were very friendly and attentive and we will definitely return.
