My wife and I had always wanted to try Brian Maule but never got around to it. Finally, we got it booked on a pre-theatre menu or fixed price menu. Unfortunately, having decided what I'd like based on the menu online, we found that the menu was different. However, we both stuck to a beef main course as we know that Brian Maule has a good reputation for it and sure enough it was most excellent. However, it was the starter and the sticky toffee pudding dessert that I found disappointing and was about average. I suppose that's the downside of not going a la carte. However, we still had a lovely time and enjoyed the meal overall and would go back and try a la carte next time we have something to celebrate.
