Four of us arrived at Mini Grill for a Pre-Theatre Meal Meal on Saturday night at 8pm. We had never been before and were pleased to see it was a small, cosy restaurant but very busy. The staff were excellent - very friendly and joky, allowing us extra time to choose our meals from what looked like a lot of delicious dishes. My Starters (duck parfait) was absolutely gorgeous and a good quantity. My husband, on the other hand, said his haggis trio, though delicious, was just a small mouthful of food. The Mains were a mixed bag, too. My Celebration of Swine would not have fed a small infant, let alone a hungry adult. There was more empty plate than food when it arrived. Despite this, it was really delicious. My husband's burger was huge, delicious and with enough chips, but devoid of any vegetables. Our friends, experience was the same as ours - one good portion and one very small. The atmosphere would have been given a 5 but it was very noisy, given the restaurant size. Despite the beautiful food, our night was marred by the lack of it and by the noise. However, we did enjoy our night, loved the food, as I've said, and would go back - but as long as we could have a fish supper when we came out!
