Efficient 'host' (H) that's what I am lead to believe they now call someone in charge of front of house, was someone my guest said 'a bit snottie'.
The first course, pate for me and blue cheese salad for my guest, I would rate poor.
The toasted bread was thick and tasted like something from a sliced loaf; and the salad turned up with no blue cheese. 'H' came back and brought 'a fresh one' with cheese.
Main Course- Haddock + chips was OK and what was what was described on the menu with straw chips, pity they were not proper chips because the restaurant served decent fish as a main course for under a tenner. I know places in the 'Strip' who serve up Pollack for more than a tenner and it has to be about the cheapest fish on the market and tasteless. I had the chicken, it was moist but stringy, small portion but with a very pleasant sauce, clap-shot and poorly cooked asparagus.
'Lets get the bill and go else where for coffee.'
Hard pressed young waiter did his best to be pleasant but as the place busied up, he had to apologise for not dealing with our bill. Not his fault.
Saw previous comment on this place, I cannot make comment or form a judgement, maybe I was unfortunate but 'H's attitude was a signal to why I should have walked out in the first five minutes.
Back to our old and tested haunts, with good food and service with a smile.
