Top marks to the clearly hard working and conscientious chefs who were let down by their waiting staff. Having booked a table several days in advance and requesting not to be sat adjacent to the entrance door, its a disappointing start to any evening to be positioned just there. Who after all wants to be sat next to a main door during the winter whilst eating their evening meal?? Had read other reviews noting this gripe also. Aside from the draft every time customers entered and left we were seemingly forgotten about, sat in the corner of the restaurant. I believe that if one has went out of their way to specifically ask not be sat somewhere and have given reasonable notice, their requests really should be accommodated. When I asked immediately to be re positioned we were told the restaurant would be full within the NEXT 45 minutes. Well, I'm sorry but to be fair I had also booked and really should have been accommodated as there was adequate space elsewhere. Aside this issue, after been sat with empty mains dishes for 20 minutes and unable to summon any attention I got up and requested to speak to the manager. The manager promptly appeared, from behind the bar next to our table (!) and was sympathetic and apologised. He discounted our drinks bill that consisted of 2 coffees and a glass of cranberry juice. In all honesty, when you experience an evening like this and paid in excess of £50, the small gesture of a 3 non-alcholic drinks is insignificant and contrary to the very nice food experienced. As typical, the professional hidden deserving chefs so let down by the shortcomings of waiting staff and their manager I'm afraid.
