I am the type of person who believes that we all should contribute and take care of each other!
To my dismay, I had to pay this not knowing if the money was going to the management of the establishment, or the waiting staff/kitchen?
This process seems to be the most annoying to us the customer. It makes you feel bad that you may not be contributing fairly for good service i.e. We gave the Spanish gentleman a five pound tip as well as the service charge!
A touch of emotional blackmail/confusion directed at us the customer.
The sad thing is the meal was beautiful,the Spanish gent was charming. Totally ruined by service charge.
