29 - The Grill At The Square Review

  • Rating Rating 4.6/5
Have yet to be disappointed here. Latest we could book the pre-theatre offer was 5.15pm and it was easy to see why. Surprisingly busy for that time, although it was a Saturday. Menu was varied given it was pre-theatre. Stornoway black pudding on a tattie scone with a perfect poached egg on top was to die for. Spring rolls good portion for a starter. Fish and chips amazing value and beautifully presented. Baked cod with risotto excellent. Venison so tender. All followed by coffee with shortie AND tablet. Couldn't really fault it. Only slight niggle was the background "music". The place was so buzzy that all you could hear was the base line. Completely unnecessary. Won't put us off going back yet again.
