29 - The Grill At The Square Review

  • Rating Rating 4/5
Been here a few times & as always the service was second to none. I like how they cut & leave a small hot crusty loaf at the table, although it would have been better if the crumbs had been cleared away. I had the pate which was delicious; my friend had the lentil soup & also thought it was lovely. I was disappointed in the (fish of the day) which was a Salmon fillet in caper & shrimp sauce, although the fillet was very large the sauce just tasted like melted butter & shrimps swimming in greasy butter really put me off, also there was no potatoes, which the waiter had advised me off when ordering, therefore I ordered a portion of chips, which I’m glad I did, because I could barely eat the salmon due to the sauce, I would have preferred a small fillet with some sort of potatoes (& a better sauce). My friend had the Lamb sausages on a bed of mashed potatoes which she thoroughly enjoyed. My only other comment is £8 for a 250ml of Pinot Grigio was a bit excessive.
