29 - The Grill At The Square Review

  • Rating Definitely worth a visit for lunch (Rating 4.4/5)
We visited No. 29 The Grill for the second time in a week. They have a number of good value set dining options. We tried the 5pm two courses from the express lunch menu plus a glass of wine for £13 and also two courses from the 2 for £29 menu plus a bottle of wine for 2 persons. No. 29 is an establishment which has not changed its’ brasserie style since opening and offers good food in a great location. The set lunch menus offered a choice of 5 or 6 starters and mains. The food was nicely presented and beautifully cooked. We particularly enjoyed the Baked Shetland Salmon and the Drunken Chicken as mains. The warm freshly baked loaf and the not so skinny fries are good extras. The house wine was enjoyable and we were given complimentary coffees. The staff were friendly and efficient and the views over a busy Royal Exchange Square were a bonus. The restaurant is popular and can get quite noisy at the weekends. Definitely worth a visit for lunch.
